Non-English Web content is increasing rapidly. 42% of all Internet users are in Asia, while 25% are in Europe and just over 10% are in Latin America. A Juxt Consulting report on online usage behavior in India suggests that only 28% prefer to read in English, implying a 72% user base preference for non-English, native content. Middle Eastern languages are also among the fastest growing on the internet. Inspite of the huge growth, non-English content is suffering due to fewer search tools, resulting in the lack of user adoption.
The rise of the multi-lingual Internet doesn’t change the fact that English is the global lingua franca. English is the first language for about 400 million and the second Language for about 1.5 billion. It is also a third or familiar language for another 1 billion in the world. Most access to web or mobile internet is with English-based devices and Operating Systems.
Linguos was founded in 2018 with the sole motto of bridging the gap between users and web/mobile content in their native and foreign languages. At Linguos, we develop world-class tools that increase rapid access to non-English Web which further leads to their increased adoption creating a much bigger profitable ecosystem of users, publishers and advertisers.
